Dave’s previous report about finding a sun-lounger on deck is pretty factual, for him, but he omitted to say that the decks do start to clear at about 5pm each afternoon, as the First Sitting people make their way to their cabins to get ready for dinner. So yesterday afternoon, we all met up late afternoon for a taster session of quoits, shuffleboard, and golf/hockey with the golf sticks. Followed by selecting four loungers in prime position beside one of the pools, and having a swim... this being a FIRST for me, despite multiple cruises, I don’t really ‘do’ taking my clothes off in front of strangers. The temperature of the pool was 33°, so very pleasant.
Last night we at last got to see a show – a 1950s based all-singing all-dancing effort, which received mixed reviews from our group, ranging from “About as interesting as a trip to the dentist” through to “Well, I thought it was pretty good”. Will leave our readers to work out who said what! Then up to the Crows Nest for night-caps, where Harold’s order was already known by the lovely Philipino waitress... seems like he’s getting a reputation all over the ship!
We arrived in Cephalonia early this morning, and are moored in the bay off Argostoli. It’s extremely hot, so Dave & I have spent most of the day sitting in the shade, though we did take the tender boat across to the town for a brief wander round. We’re looking forward to setting sail again at 5:30 as at least we’ll get a bit of a sea breeze then. No that I’m complaining, you understand!!!
